Questions about the offer
Who gets 50% off the first month?
Anyone renting a new storage unit with us who signs up by 31 December 2026. That includes current customers taking a second unit.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes, 2 months. If you move out sooner, the other half of your first month's rent is added to your final bill.
Rent is month to month after that, with the usual 30 days written notice when you are ready to move out.
How do HST and the deposit work with the offer?
The 50% comes off your first month's rent before HST, and HST is charged on the reduced amount. The deposit is still one month's regular rent.
The deposit goes toward your final bill when you give notice, the same as always. A current customer taking another unit pays a deposit for the new unit.
Which units are included?
Every indoor unit and sea container. The outdoor compound and parking are not part of this offer.
Compound and parking space is priced by what you are storing, so call us for a quote on that.
The size I want is on the waitlist. Do I miss out?
No. Join the waitlist by 31 December 2026, and if your unit opens up by 31 January 2027 you still get 50% off your first month.
I already rent from you. How do I refer a friend?
Send them this page, by text, email or Facebook. When they book, they tell us your name, either in the "Who referred you?" box or when they call or text.
When do I get my referral reward?
Once your friend's first payment has gone through, we take 50% off one of your units on your next monthly bill.
Can I refer more than one friend?
Yes. Every friend who moves in earns you another month at 50% off, applied one month at a time.
I rent more than one unit. Which one gets the discount?
Each reward covers one unit for one month. Tell us which unit you would like it on.
Can I combine this with another offer?
No. This offer cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
When does the offer end?
Sign up by 31 December 2026. A friend who signs up by then still earns you a referral reward once their first payment goes through, even if that is in the new year.
Offer details
- 50% off the first month's rent on a new storage unit agreement signed by 31 December 2026. Waitlist sign-ups made by then keep the offer if their unit becomes available by 31 January 2027.
- Available to new customers, and to current customers renting an additional unit. Indoor units and sea containers only. The outdoor compound and parking are excluded.
- Minimum rental of 2 months. If the unit is vacated sooner, the discount is added to the final bill.
- The discount applies to rent before 13% HST. The deposit is one month's regular rent and is not discounted.
- Referral reward: 50% off one unit's rent for one month, applied to the referring customer's next bill after the referred customer's first payment clears. The referred customer must be new to Goulais Storage and name the referring customer when they sign up. One reward per referred customer, applied one month at a time.
- Not combinable with any other offer. No cash value.
